Au Marché provides everyday European groceries and gifts from continental Europe at reasonable prices.

During my year studying abroad in college, I sampled a remarkable array of wonderful European food. But, like many people who have the good fortune of traveling overseas for an extended stay, I eventually became homesick for a taste of something familiar. Fortuitously, I stumbled upon a small store in Aix-en-Provence, France selling British and American foods. I filled my shopping bag with Snapple, Oreos, Dr. Pepper, Ritz crackers and peanut butter. This comforting find was the inspiration for Au Marché.

We opened our doors in 1998 in a very small store on a side street in Lawrence, KS. Despite our teeny-tiny space and off-the-beaten path location, many locals, both American and European, found us and became loyal customers. We have grown considerably since then, and today have a beautiful store in a much larger space, located on Massachusetts Street in the heart of Downtown Lawrence.
