Really stupid movie. The scene where the family tries to kill the dude after the attack (lame attempt to show society returning to the dogs or something) still pisses me off.
Not as bad as Red Dawn which may be the worst movie of all time however. I would like to fist fight who ever wrote that piece of crap....

I was an extra in the movie. Lousy movie. I like Red Dawn, it has the Harry Dean Stanton rule

BABBOY---SHOWS WHY YOU ARE NOT A MOVIE CRITIC. RED DAWN WAS A GOOD MOVIE. A LOT OF PEOPLE ENJOYED IT. THOUGH, I AM NOT SURPRISED YOU DIDN'T.

I blame the fall of the USSR war machine on Red Dawn. Once they saw what 'merican country boys could do to 'em they just folded.
"WOLVERINES!"
(RoeDies House of Pain and Prepper Supply still has a good supply of tinfoil hats. $6.95ea. or 10 for $60.00)

No I did not see that movie, but I did see Lawrence of Arabia, but never did get the connection to Lawrence, Kansas! Am I missing something?

I found the movie on DVD, made by a legitimate company and bought it. It is not a bad post atomic age movie.

I like the part where they magically relocate KUMED to Lawrence.

I was an extra in it as well. I always thought it stunk. .

Special Bulletin was another "bomb goes off" movie, also from 1983. It was also a fairly gritty piece of work for 1980s network TV.

My kid sister, Pam, was dying of nuclear contamination outside of the hospital, and her husband, Mark, was one of the men loading bodies on to the back of a truck. What I thought was maddening and funny was that, when people showed up to be extras they were issued geek clothes (a KC doctor's wife who dresses like a rodeo queen?) because "otherwise no one will believe we're making it in Kansas."
