just further motivation to give them a proper send-off with an NCAA championship

In many ways, other wins for the KU BB program! The relevance of the program in the BB community is further substantiated by hiring our former coaches and players. Good luck to all!

they should make it policy to not release this kind of information until after a major tournament, if the coaches can keep a secret for a week from the players.

That's almost worse because then there's speculation on who may leave and who may go. This way, it's over with. Play ball.

Agree, Mile. The team probably saw this coming a mile away. Tip it off and let's go.

I think this is a horrible loss for KU. I wish him the best, of course, but he did a great job teaching and coaching our bigs. He will be sorely missed but I hope that he does so well we see him in the final four real soon against Kansas.

Given that money is no issue in Coach Manning's life (I assume), I can't imagine giving up a seat on the bench of a perennial championship contender for the head position at a perennial 'no one cares' college.

Bill Self coached at the "no one cares" university. It is a good move for Danny to get a head coaching job! It is time. He has paid his dues on the KU bench as an assistant. I will be watching Tulsa when I am not rooting for my Jayhawks!

Noticed Brett Ballard from Baker University is joining Danny Manning at Tulsa. I think it is a minor distraction but nothing serious. I notice many former Kansas players coaching. This can be attributed to Larry Brown, Roy Williams and Bill Self laying a great foundation.
