Much of the downtown parking problems are caused be the very businesses that the parking for their customers provides. Business employees, bar patrons and downtown professionals occupying the limited number of on-street parking places for extended periods of time is a major problem. As a former business owner downtown I was taken aback by business owners complaining about parking and yet allowing themselves and their employees to occupy prime on-Mass. Street partking. Make them help resolve the parking problem they helped create.
