Lottery is put their to raise money off of the poor who have no other way to make it out of their horrible plight.

I think a better question is what is the percentage of lottery players that are on some form of government assistance! That would be very interesting to know.

I picked never. If it was added later, then the poll results are pretty useless as a sample.

Never. I'm like the Scotsman who prayed every night to win the lottery. Finally one night, God responded, "Angus, you could at least buy a ticket!"

Strong lack of knowledge in making polls.

Never! I work too hard for my money to give it away. I don't go to casino's either. Just not my thing...

My favorite is when you see people struggling to put food on the table go out and buy $20 worth of lotto tickets...smooth move with your odds there, Einstein.

Only when the Powerball jackpot is over $100 million. Anything less is not worth my time. lol

I played one time, and won $645,000,000.00. So, I don't play anymore.

To those who play: Thanks you so much for taxing yourself voluntarily. Keep it up!!!

Never should have been an option.

The lottery is a tax on those who can't do math.

What do they mean by lottery? Powerball, never. I'll buy a $1 scratcher every blue moon when I'm getting gas or something. Win something worthwhile every blue moon's worth of blue moon's.

When I worked in the gas station, I always felt sorry for the poor schmucks who bought $10 to $20 worth of lottery tickets a day. All of them always said that they came out ahead, too. I thought about asking how detailed of cost/benefit records they kept on the subject, and thought better of it.

Put me down in the "where is the NEVER?" category.

Back in the day when lottery tickets were 50 cents each, when they were first available in NJ, there was a father in my neighborhood who spent $20 a week on lottery tickets. $20. His family really needed that $20 for food, but my friend's dad though he'd hit it big one day. He never did.

Yep.

Never should have been an option.

Sometimes people will give me tickets as a birthday present (which is neat idea). That is the only time I play the lottery.

Amazing that so many people complain about paying taxes but they buy lottery tickets each week which basically just a voluntary tax.

No issue with the lottery just do not see the odds to make it worth playing.

Why is "Never" not an option?

I'm with BigDave on this one: NEVER. Why isn't that an option?
