Of course... In Chicago they get counted for each and every election for years after death... I guess that supports belief in the afterlife, eh...

It's really simple. If you're not alive on election day to where you could have actually, physically gone down and voted but for whatever your reason for obtaining an absentee ballot, your vote shouldn't count. If you don't have the option, you don't get to vote, period. Admittedly it would be difficult to roll a bedridden patient from the hospital down to the polling place, but it could be done if absolutely necessary. It's not like you're bringing someone back from the grave to go down and vote.KsTwister: Absentee ballots are always the last counted. They'll be officially tallied and added in, but if it's obvious who won the election, it can be days or even a couple of weeks before some election districts will count them.

They don't have to roll a beridden patient down - they come to you. And it is hard for them to come to you in the afterlife! I say they don't count cuz the person who died probably stopped caring about politics anyway. ;)

If the voter is elderly and knows they're going to die soon, they might be making the vote more for those who will still be around to be effected by the decision rather than for their self.

What about advance voting, not absentee voting? I vote early quite often, but if I were to die how would they know how I voted? I don't remember putting it an envelope with my name.

bring out your dead...I'm not dead yet!What if I am alive when I vote AND election day but dead before they get to my advance-ballot? Would I no longer need representation? Because, I will still have taxation...death tax anyone? Should everyone's vote be taken away the moment they die? Who would ever get elected in Florida then?

Obama's lead in the primary votes relied substantially on his Kook co. Il votes! so, that makes obama, the "deadhead" democrat nominee? I loved how in his german speech he reffed standing up to the soviets (hardy-har-har). Kerry, Kennedy, AlGore, et al voted against Reagan's buildup that ended the soviet union. they voted against SDI, the space defense system that has now protected us here. can a dead president come back please: Ronald Reagan! oh, yeah.
