Portuguese villagers Jose Preto and Maria Joaquina Fernandes watch the progress of the solar eclipse through pairs of special sun-blocking glasses while take care of their community flock Monday at Rio de Onor, Braganca, northern Portugal. The annular eclipse darkened the sun in a snake-like route across the Iberian Peninsula, the western Mediterranean, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
