For the past 50 years Donal Otto of rural Eudora has operated a fish farm, supplying many of the Lawrence area ponds with bass, catfish, bluegill and crappie. Pictured with Donal is Jeannie Merritt, who recently, with husband Marcus purchased catfish from Donal for their pond near Perry.

Each student won a $750 merit scholarship toward six weeks of study this summer in Eutin, Germany.

Ron Hall reaches the halfway point of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's 100-mile bike ride at Lake Tahoe on June 4, 2006. Approximately 3,600 riders raised more than $8 million for research and treatment of blood cancers.

Hunter Wong, 14 month old son of George and Kristen Wong (Miller), Topeka, stops to remember his great grandfather at a family gathering, showing us the real meaning of Independence Day. Roy Moore's memorial marker is at a family lake where over 100 family members have gathered the last 35 years to celerbrate the 4th.

Celebrating the Fourth in Style! Spencer Burt, Lawrence, celebrates the Fourth of July with his nephew, Andrew Goates also of Lawrence. Andrew, four months old today, is the son of Marieke and Jeremy Goates of Lawrence.
Carlos Espinosa-Machado visited Vienna, Austria this fall to attend the University of Austria. Carlos is a senior student at KU, majoring in Music Education and he's also a member of the University Symphony Orchestra.
Christopher Veeh, Lisa Crook and Kaela Byers received degrees from the KU School of Social Welfare and attended 2006 graduation ceremonies in May. The three traveled to Washington, D.C. in June to accept a national award for student political advocacy projects. "Influencing State Policy"Â awarded them for their advocacy in the passage of juvenile justice legislation in Kansas this year.
