Native Americans and community supporters gather in the wetlands for a National Day of Prayer for the Protection of threatened Indian sacred places sponsored by the Morning Star Institute. This annual event is organized by Susan Shown Harjo, whose parents both graduated from Haskell Institute before World War II.
