The Nail Lounge
This business is under new ownership!! Mik and Sara are the owner/operators and are doing a wonderful job turning the place around. I've been in close to 10 times now, and they have never been behind schedule (I do make appointments as opposed to walking in). There have always been no fewer than 4 technicians present, and it is a really friendly group. My favorite part of the whole experience is that everyone who works here engages their clients, and don't talk amongst themselves in their native tongue. I never have to wonder what they are saying about me!!
Went in once and the last time. I stopped by and made 2 pedicure appointments they said come back in 45 min. so we did. We sat for another 45 min. waiting finally we were told to go to the pedicure chairs, to only wait for another 20 minutes. My friend gets hers first it took them KID YOU NOT 15 MINUTES to do her pedicure I was sitting right beside her and said my goodness that's the fastest pedicure I've ever seen. The nail tec pretended that he couldn't understand what I was saying. My friend is a runner and has blisters and cracks from her shoes and when she was finished they hadnt even addressed them. The only thing that looked better was her polish. I recieve pedicures every 2 weeks and mine also only took 15 minutes. It was the worst pedicure I have ever recieved. I had a broken toe nail and she tried to polish it and it was all jagged on the edge I told her it was not exceptable. I am assuming it was the manager that came to fix her mistakes. But he did a poor job also. They did no filing on the nails or our feet no cuticle was cut and polish was all over our cuticles. when I went to pay for our services the bill was $69.00 on the sign pedicures were priced $24.00 I have no problem paying for my services but when it is this poor I can go to the beauty school and get better services. I was embarrised to say I was giving my friend a treat that was so poorly done. I will not be visiting this business again. The salon had 18 pedicure thrones and 8 manicure tables and only 3 people working. It is a new business in the last year so I thought I would give them a try sorry I did.
I was in town for a wedding, needed a mani/pedi, was referred to another place that was small and outdated, was referred to The Nail Lounge. I was very impressed with this great place. Tammy was my technician, she was very professional and outgoing. I really loved that the two techs did not speak to each other in their native language. I received excellent, fast service and I can not wait till I am in Lawrence again so I can go visit again! The owner was there and he was really a great person. Spoke perfect English and was very accomodating!
I didn't know this place even existed until I got a gift certificate for there. I had scheduled an appointment which they had to re-schedule. For that inconvenience, they upgraded my pedicure. The pedicure/service were both good, and the atmosphere was nice, but there was only one person working. I just thought that was a little odd because they have SO many chairs in there for just one person to be working.
Horrible service. Twice now I have called ahead about getting a pedi & was told to come on in. Upon arrival 10-15min later, I was told it would be 45min-hour wait. There are never enough nail techs staffed & no one acknowledeges you when you walk in.
Made an appointment for pedi's 2, when we got there only one person working (another hanging around, not sure if it was her friend or another employee). Didn't realize one person doing us both until we were already soaking. Halfway through technician's kids showed up, and although she apologized for them being there, didn't really help the spa atmosphere. Actual service was ok, great calf massage (just wish it had lasted longer and the kids weren't arguing during it). Tried this place last fall and it was much better. Overall, wish we had just painted each others toes at home and skipped it all together! Probably won't be back :-(
