Lawrence Community Theatre presents A Song on the Wind by local historian and playwright Betty Laird. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Aug. 8 and 9 and 2:30 p.m. Aug. 10. A fictionalized account of events in Lawrence during the time of Quantrill's raid, the play is at once a love story, the story of the arrival of the first woman professor at KU and the story of the Lawrence windmill.
