Douglas County Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) volunteers provide support to the Lawrence-Douglas County Health Department during public health emergencies, as well as represent the health department at other events. MRC volunteers may perform several jobs, including staffing a mass dispensing site; providing vaccinations; educating, counseling, and working with the public; assisting with infectious disease outbreak investigations and providing first aid support at community events.
Douglas County MRC volunteers, along with more than 200,000 MRC volunteers in over 900 MRC units nationwide, help to strengthen public health, emergency response and community resiliency. Learn more at http://www.medicalreservecorps.gov/.
