Teens and young adults have an exceptional amount of stress in their lives. They are not only trying to figure out what they want to do in life, but they may be adjusting to a new lifestyle away from friends and family. Many young people are not only experimenting with who they want to be, but may also find these may conflict with what their parents expectations for them are. I help teenagers "find themselves", gain the confidence to let their parents know what it is they really want to do, and assist them in putting together a SMART goal plan. SMART stands for specific, measurable, achievable, reasonable, and time oriented. Within the first session, the client begins to move forward into their life with renewed enthusiasm and control. It is a great feeling to have control over your life in a positive manner!
