Following the tragic events of Sept. 11, 2001, BURGER KING® mobile units were established in New York, New Jersey and at the Pentagon. BURGER KING® opened its first restaurant in Iraq at the Baghdad Airport and deploys more than three mobile units to feed troops throughout the region. Mobile BURGER KING® units are also used to support troop rotations and welcome home celebrations, where free Whoppers are given to the troops and their families.
