Events / JIM BROTHERS, SCULPTING STORIES INTO BRONZE
15 Feb 2010 - All Day
Held at the Lawrence Public Library
Merging a passion for history with a passion for creating fine art has earned Jim Brothers acclaim as a preeminent representational sculptor whose work is found in numerous public settings as well as corporate, institutional, and private collections worldwide.
Jim's work is largely documentary - a story brought to life imbued with the unique character and personality of his subject. His sculpture is inspired by his own Cherokee and pioneer roots along with the rich heritage of the nation. His work reflects both the hero and the common man, often drawing them as one and the same. His subjects vary, yet large or small, all of his works share a common element; each sculpture conveys the action and emotion of a moment in time.
Please join us as we welcome Jim, a consummate storyteller in stone as he shares the personal stories behind the sculptures, his journey as an artist, and shows us examples of his life’s work
