I'm disappointed to see that this organization has gone through multiple identities and continued to solicit funds for the exact same digital medical records improvements. They received a grant, free software from a major manufacturer, another grant, and now have put out a cry for assistance to the community. How many times has this happened? Where is the accountability?

Thanks for your review! We appreciate you taking the time to voice your concerns and keeping up on the activity of HCHC in the community.

Our Electronic Medical Records system implementation is an approximate $80,000 project. We have received generous donations in support of this project including a in-kind donation of hardware from the KU IT department, a in-kind donation from an IT specialist to install and implement the EHR software, a $24,250 grant from the Kansas Association for the Medically Underserved, and funding of $22,300 from Douglas County.

We have not received free software. However, through a partnership between the Kansas Association for the Medically Underserved, The Regional Extension Center and The Kansas Foundation for Medical Care, HCHC was able to receive an EHR system with a significant price reduction, strongly leveraging HCHC’s purchasing power.

Our campaign for an Electronic Health Records system is complete! Since we began soliciting funds for an EHR in August, we’ve garnered enough support to fully implement an electronic health records system.

Our current campaign is an ask to the community to contribute to improving our pharmaceutical storage and upgrading our clinic, which will increase patient privacy, security and safety and will put us in a better position to meet more of the need.

I hope this clears up some of the misinformation you've received.
