From what's known as "bath salts" to synthetic marijuana-like substances, Kansas and the county have seen a wide range of synthetic drugs during the past three years. Jeremy Morris, a forensic scientist with the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, shows some of the drugs they've tested in his lab.

Jeremy Morris, a forensic scientist with the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, says there's no way to know what users are actually getting when they buy synthetic drugs. Morris was one of the first scientists to tests the substances when they popped up in the area in late 2009.
