Kansas soldiers return from Kosovo
Soldiers with the Kansas National Guard returned to Lawrence from their tour of duty in Kosovo. The military members were happy to be back in the arms of caring loved ones.

Local park's future up in the air
The future of Woody Park in Lawrence is uncertain. Plans have been suggested to convert the park into a parking lot for the nearby hospital and also to create a new park in an alternate location.

One graduating KU student is leaving behind a green legacy after creating a food garden on campus. The garden will be maintained by future generations of KU students.

Tractors travel during LHS races
Students involved in a shop class at Lawrence High School raced their projects on Friday. The students constructed working tractors and learned the appropriate math and engineering skills in the process.

Firebirds sweep in city showdown
The Free State baseball team won another close contest against Lawrence High Friday in the second and final game in the city showdown. The Firebirds won both games with clutch hitting in the late innings.

The Jayhawks fell to the Wildcats in the first game of the Sunflower Showdown Friday. KU fell to 29-10-1 on the season.

Eudora elementary school students presented their book projects in Eudoraville Friday. The youngsters worked to illustrate fun children's books and put them into a multimedia project.
