School wages money war for Haiti
In an effort to raise funds for Haiti disaster relief, a local junior high started a money war. Each grade raised money to donate to the cause, which amounted to nearly $2,000.

While several troops of Kansas soldiers are in route to Haiti to lend a helping hand, not everyone was able to go. Several soldiers had personal conflicts but most say they hope to aid in the relief effort when they have the chance.
Turnpike project on backburner

Hybrid buses set to hit streets
A set of eco-friendlier buses is set to hit Lawrence streets Wednesday. The vehicles are a combination of electric and diesel power.

The LHS wrestling team dominated Free State on Tuesday. The Lions took care of business, winning 60-15.

The Wildcats had a test on the road at Baylor Tuesday night. Kansas State won by two points, setting up a rivalry battle with Kansas on Saturday.
