Advance Voted in July.
Forgot. Diehard vs. Moron has numbed my mind into inertia. Along with the heat.
All of you nuts that don't vote can't complain about anything.. hope your happy ... voting is about the only right you have left..
Too bad you have to identify with one of the two major parties in order to vote today. Personally I would rather not have any affiliation with them and save my vote for November.
Not true! Independents can vote in the Democratic primary without changing their status. They can vote in the Republican primary by registering as a Republican at the poll, and then restating their independence with the county clerk's office after the election.
I stand corrected for the Dems for those that are independents. As for the Republicans I would still rather not wear a mask for the day and desplay that they have a greater following then they really do. I still ask for open elections so that if I'm a libertarian I can still participate.
Yeah, us Republicans wouldn't want you "desplaying" that you were one of us. Lol.
i voted early, they make it really easy and it's painless.
Don't vote, don't complain..
Since it is a primary and not an 'election vote", you can complain. I voted but you can refrain and still offer your opinion.
Isn't this a primary? I'll vote in the general, but as I understand it if you're not registered as a member of the party holding the primary you can't vote in it.
Yeah, we're not all yellow dog Republicans and Democrats...
I'm getting ready to hit the road & vote in this primary. By the way, let me be very clear: If YOU don't vote, you don't have the right to complain. Our rights are being taken away all over the place. Voting is one of our last rights. What's happened in recent years, well, I'm not going to sit down, shut up & accept where our country is heading. So, those who complain & don't vote, you will get NO SYMPATHY from me.
If you really want everyone to be involved and vote you should advocate for your party to have open primaries so that non party members can put their vote in for your candidate. Otherwise save the hype and your scorning.
So, what rights have been taken away?I'm not missing any of mine.
Wrong! get out and vote!!! Its thinking like this that is hastening our demise as a country.
I'm registered Independent. The primaries mean nothing to me.
Independents can vote in the Democratic primary or register as a Republican at their polling location and re-register as an Independent after the primary. So if you see a Republican or Democrat you'd like to vote for, but you're Independent, it is still possible for you to participate.
We'd still have a two party system, which is inherently corrupt. The system is flawed and fighting it on its own terms is futile. It's ridiculous. Kill the parties. Let's stop making it easy to be foolish in our support of legislators.
My wife and I would have probably forgot about the primary today....then I received 3 robocalls on behalf of Patricia Lightner and she a robocall from Sarah Palin on behalf of Tihart. Needless to say, Moran and Yoder received two more votes thanks to the robocalls.
Tihart and Moran are the same, and yes, I like my Republicans a little more moderate than Lightner.
Yesterday Mrs Roe said "Do you realize you just hung up on Sarah Palin?"
I've told her repeatedly. Private message only.
Tom Shewman: A consensus of one.
It will be a lot more fun watching you eat yours. Or maybe you'll throw another fit and disappear yourself for another 96 hours. That will be fun, too.
It is a completely ridiculous and offensive notion to ascribe 'real American' status to one ideology. In fact, doing so is damn near the single most unpatriotic position one can take. I am a moderate...that's right, not a radical lefty, as you would like to believe..and I stand for the value of a two party system and honest and productive debate that those good ol' founding fathers exemplified. I believe we should realize our common goals and work out the details in a manner which best represents the American system.
Vote Obama out now.
and a fourth for 'not yet, but will in a while'
Voted! But wish we had something other than the following right wing BS on the ballot: Tiahrt, Moran, Jenkins, Brownback, Herrington. No doubt about "What's The Matter With Kansas".
Must be loosing my mind; how did I leave Herr Kobach off of my previous post> Sieg Heil.
Once again, people, this is a primary. This is not to vote someone into office, it to vote for who is going to run for office. If you're registered as independent you can't vote in it, and as far as I know the only races that are really contested are the Republican ones anyway.
I feel like there should be a button for "can't participate in primary"
What about those Unaffiliated?
I did not know that. Useful info. Now, do you happen to know if there are any Democratic primaries that are contested? I was under the impression that for the most part they were not. (I mean that in a polite, asking someone who seems to know what they are talking about kind of way, not in a "I'm just gonna sit on my butt while you do all the fact-finding" kind of way)
It's true, there are more things to vote for on the GOP ballot.
On the Democratic side, there's the Secretary of State race, the Senate race, and either the 2nd or 3rd district U.S. House race, depending on where you live. The governor's race isn't contested, and the only state house primary in the area is a Republican contest.
Wait, does this poll count?
Libertarian. I'm not allowed to vote in the primary, so that saves me from the stench of republicans and democrats for today. I'll be with the republicans in November though, while holding my nose. They stink less.
Why vote when every candidate's primary goal in office is to spend more than their government takes in.
early and often
