Stop the Masterbation, I drive K-10 everyday and I'm shocked at the number of male and females that are Masterbating while driving 70mph. Just stop it already.

Glad they got the poll fixed. It wasn't accepting votes most of the day.

Like most people, if the light was turning yellow as I approached, I would go through. But after my husband and daughter were nearly hit by a car who ran a red, I have much more patience. If I am approaching and it's green, but know it will turn yellow when I enter the intersection (as most have those crosswalks with the numbers counting down), I slow down and stop. And then there are the cars who are behind me that change lanes and barrel through. I just hope I don't get rear ended. You will be hit,Don't do this.....................

Farewell, for I go to a far better place. The MIami Herald. I'm afraid that you who post so faithfully to the Lawrence Journal World will never hear from me again. Then too, no one ever read my postings, probably because they were too positive.Don't miss me because I know I will not miss you.

BuffyloGal: "I have no patience for the people who cruise along in the left lane of the highway as if that is normal behavior. It is the passing lane and should be used when needed, not as a constant. Of course, they're usually on the phone:"Tom "I agree with Buffalogal and Wendymy two biggest pet peeves are: not using a signal and malingering in the outside, left passing lane:.drives me nuts! The other is being tailed too closely." My favorite "pass" time IS malingering in the left lane, chatting on the phone about all the tailgaters flipping out over my sub-speeding velocity. Icing on the cake: releasing the fog bomb and sprinkling the roadway with tire spikes!

Similar to thinking of your mother, I often think of a grandmother.Specifically, I think of how courteous people are in face to face interaction. I could not imagine most people behaving the same in a public place, such as a courthouse hallway. The same people who hold doors open for others are veering down the road later, tailgating and flipping them off.

Mom of three , not of the entire world, thank you. Stop the lectures, no one needs that from you, and if I were one of your children I would run away from home. You are the kind of woman that inspires men to call women the b word instead of dogs for whom it was intended.Shut the hell up. already!

I put down none of the above. I've never been in an accident and never caused one. Why change what's working.

The key: be nice.Treat every other driver as if they are someone's grandpa, or daughter, or best friend, or something. They are.

"We didn't record your vote, because you or someone from your computer's address or network has already voted."????? What's up with that? I'm on a freaking air card, you idiots!! Is your poll all that super accurate that it matters? For that matter, it really shouldn't matter that I'm even bringing up such an inconsequential thing as a reader poll on the JW web site. But while we're at it, Vote 'NO'Vote early.Vote often.(I'm Informed and I approved this message.)

My husband usually delays a few seconds when the light turns green, and it used to drive me nuts. But if he didn't do that last year, then he and my daughter would have been hit by a driver running a red light. So now, I am much more patient with him and the drivers in front of me at green lights

This morning, I witnessed a garbage truck driver yell to the car beside him at a stoplight, "You got somethin' you wanna say to me?!" It was quite funny--I guess the driver of the car had done something to tick off this guy. The stuff we all see on the roads is as laughable as it is scary. I agree with Buffalogal and Wendy---my two biggest pet peeves are: not using a signal and malingering in the outside, left passing lane....drives me nuts! The other is being tailed too closely.

and if I am in traffic, remember it is reality; I cannot change it. Relax and think of nice things. If I am upset, I am saying "I am morally superior to this traffic jam." thanks tolle.

I would sign a petition so that you can not use a cellphone while driving.

I wish people would:- pay attention to their driving.- drive the posted speed limit not under it or over it- learn how to manuver the round-abouts.- be confident of your driving if you are afraid then take a driving class to build your confidence or take the bus. Too many drivers are so freaked out they either drive too slow, fearful of making a turn or just hold up traffic. also those who make turns and take up another lane instead of staying within the lines. - stay in YOUR lane people.- pay attention to when the light turns GREEN and GO not sit there for 3 minutes and hold up traffic. - when parking leave enough room for others and stop slamming your door into the other car. - and yes stay off the PHONEThere... that's all I have to say about that.

and don't forget that STOP means the tires have to stop moving!!

Wendy...don't forget that a yellow signal doesn't mean the green has faded and to enter the intersection before it turns red.

0

Wendy magillicutty 5 years, 5 months ago

turn signals! why are you so opposed to using them? you're not a QB or LB trying to hide which direction you're going; please share! that means at the evil roundabouts too!!! sheesh. oh, and harvard and kasold is a FOUR way stop. I'm just sayin.

monkey must have gotten out of the bed on the wrong side in the morning.

0

SMe 5 years, 5 months ago

I don't need to change my driving habits. I drive responsibly and attentively. Now if the other drivers would get their act together it would be safer out there.

0

monkeyspunk 5 years, 5 months ago

If you have to work in your car, get ready in your car, or get prepared to do your job in your car, you are probably too irresponsible and lazy to have the job you are driving to anyway. Unless you are being driven there by your pimp and then it is perfectly acceptable.

I always try to remember that I could kill someone else or be killed in an automobile accident. Motor vehicle accidents are the leading cause of death from ages 1-25.

0

alm77 5 years, 5 months ago

Well, tyger, I did and so far, it's the #1 answer. I always say I'm going to stop, but then I forget. It's a hard habit to break. Sometimes I put it on speaker and lay it on top of the steering wheel. I'm a compulsive multitasker anyway. Maybe I need one of those ugly ear pieces. They're now mandatory for cell use in your vehicle in California. I have stopped doing my make-up in the car. Baby steps!!!
