"Beer and Cheetos have been restocked."What, no pork rinds? Better hurry ...
I'm trying to grow out my back hair.
Signed up for the "budget billing level payment plan" for the gas bill. Never felt like I had to do that until this year. Alas, I haven't finished the Christmas shopping yet though.
There's going to be a winter?But... but... global warming....
I'm getting my dog sled team ready even now.
Waxing my snowboard as we speak.
Of course. Kansas can go from 70 degrees down to 15 in literally an hour in a half which can be followed by a blizzard. I've experienced it.From the moment of the last frost until the first freeze in the fall. I HATE winter. I hate the cold, I hate the dark, I hate the wind, I hate the snow, and I hate the ice.Why do I stay? --- My family and friends are all here.

gccs14r (Anonymous) says:I'm blowing cellulose, not fiberglas, so I don't have to wear the Tyvek suit. That'll help. I'll probably do an early morning blow, too, which will also be better. There is nothing better than an early morning blow. Makes the day seem brighter.
Presently, I'm dissatisfied... working up to discontent....
We added several inches of insulation in the attic this summer to help all year round; replaced window coverings with lined, insulated drapes. Usually September is the time to stand outside and caulk the windows and doors, but this August is so cool, we have already started on that. We are trimming trees, helping to keep the solar panels clear, and are stacking the wood for the winter. This is just habit.
windell - do you have any Green ideas for how we can better prepare our homes for winter?
I've turned the AC in the house a few degrees colder to be sure I can stand it when December comes...

SandCo, A buddy of mine was in your spot last month. Pre-paid $1200 for next Winter's propane and hoping it's enough.

"Due to gas prices I'm not having winter this year."After a big spike this summer, natural gas prices are plummeting:http://www.wtrg.com/daily/gasprice.html
Actually, I love winter... the cold... snowfall... wood fires...the fire, without... and the fire, within....
I've got some inconvienent truth for everyone......there will be no more winters..........ha! ha! ha!

Boeing (Anonymous) says:Winter in Lawrence is a joke. I'm from Southern California and I say that. It's all ice, which sucks, but:it's not that badThat being said, I have a one weeks ration of Bratwurst if need be.--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------That reminds me of the blizzard of 03 in Denver, What turned out to be a "can I crash here tonight" due to St. Paddys day turned into a snowed in for one week extravaganza at my ex-girlfriends house, Thank god she had a wine cellar and was stocked full of food due to the BBQ she was planning that weekend. Also, thank god her boyfriend was snowed in as well on the opposite side of town. LOL ! Man those we some good times. but after five days you really start to get cabin fever. No matter how drunk you are. LOL
I had to start last month. Since I live out in the boonies, I rely on propane for heat. The lowest price for propane is usually in July, so I contracted for my winter supply. It's a gamble, though. Last winter I ran out and had to buy more on the open market. That hurt.
winter? what winter we dont need no stinking winter....
Beer and Cheetos have been restocked.
Goose down insulated thong.
Due to gas prices I'm not having winter this year.
"I'll be blowing extra insulation in the attic sometime between now and Labor Day."From experience: wait for an overcast, cool (but not cold) day, or you'll be sorry ...
I'll be blowing extra insulation in the attic sometime between now and Labor Day.
Stocking up on rabbits -- pets or meat, you know.
I just looked and made sure that my coats still exist.
