I agree with the Ugly Building comment and as an Retired Architect would like to see a more modern design. However I do think the project as a whole would be good for the community.

I'm all for the rights of the property owners to develop the property as they see fit.
I am against any public funding or tax subsidies to develop the property. The city cannot be left on the hook for this.

Guess what cynic, what a property owner does to develop a site has an impact on the entire neighborhood not to mention the immediate neighbors. The property isn't an island, it's part of a bigger picture. Hope you never have a monstrosity like that in your neighborhood or backyard.

All private funding please. Should not be a problem if the bank sees it as a worthy project. City should not be in the business of funding private ventures. The rosy economic projections were performed by an interested investor.
