Bush serves up another fanciful collection of lies and spin. Why should we expect anything different? Besides the familiar lies about job creation ("7 million new jobs"), Iraq and Iran, we were treated to still another tax giveaway to the richest Americans, this time masquerading as a solution to providing health coverage to the uninsured.

Bush's speechwriters were more clever than they have been in the past, when the idiots had him declaring a "Crusade" in the Middle East, or when he included Iran in his "Axis of Evil," and doomed the ever more influential moderates there to rapid exile from positions of power. This time they had him mixing bad news in statements that included some good and/or popular news, to make it harder for Democrats and rebellious Republicans to sit on their hands.

Best part of the show was Laura Bush clapping her hands like a trained seal barking for a fish, and the entourage of folk heros from Dikembe Mutombo to Wesley Autrey who risked his life to save a man having a seizure on the New York subway.

This clown Bush will do anything to take credit for the hard work and sacrifices of others.

this isn't a very well-worded poll. the speech contained both good and bad ideas. they always do. it's the follow-through that's important.
