Sunshine to begin the day, while high clouds will dominate the noon hour. Temperatures will peak at 59 degrees today with the possibility of thunerstorms overnight. A new consultant's report recommends spending $1 million to improve the city's development process; the Lawrence school district has saved $1.2 million in energy costs since 2003; the school district also works to help students with disabilities; and, the KU-K-State football game means something for the first time in several years.

Temperatures start in the 50's but fall throughout the day into the 40's with cloudy skies, a chance for rain in the morning and breezy winds out of the north. It's a rather cool start to the day with temperatures in the 40's, but with south winds and plenty of sun the temps will soar to a high of 80 degrees. In the news: Democrats dominate as Boyda, Morrison and Sebelius win their respective Kansas races, Sherron Collins shines in KU's 90-55 win over ESU, C.J. Giles is kicked off the team for good, and it's amazing what words they're including in the dictionary these days.

This morning temperatures are rather mild in the 50's with cloud cover until the mid-day bringing slight chance for rain before hitting a high of 62 degrees with limited sunshine. In the news: President Bush stumps in Topeka for Jim Ryun while Ryun's opponent Nancy Boyda holds her own rally. The Jayhawks welcome a bye week before their game against Kansas State.
