If your electric water heater is producing a small amount of hot water, the bottom element probably needs to be replaced. If the tank is producing no hot water, the top element is the likely culprit.
Depot Redux volunteers gather Nov. 4 for the monthly cleaning of the Santa Fe Station in Lawrence. The event is held on the first Sunday each month and is open to the public. Carey Maynard-Moody, of Lawrence, submitted the photo.
A head warmer, fingerless glove and scarf by Jerry Dowdle of Lawrence. Dowdle upcycles sweaters and other clothing items by deconstructing them and creating new clothes and accessories.

Lilly, a papillon, and Peanut, a Pekingese, were rescued from a puppy mill by the Lawrence Humane Society. They were adopted by Ray and Merrill Romig and now live in Baldwin City.
