In this scene from "Té Buffet of Life," KU freshmen in a Mount Oread Scholars "living learning community" program portray high school students. The film, a high-school romantic comedy, was written, directed, produced, acted and edited by a group of 20 students in the program. Scenes at the "high school" were filmed in Wescoe Hall, where the group meets for a seminar.

In her final season, Kansas middle blocker and Lawrence native Tayler Tolefree has helped advance the Jayhawks to their first NCAA Tournament appearance since 2005. She and her teammates will play host to Cleveland State on Friday night at Allen Fieldhouse.

Clark’s activity Tuesday at the center was part of the SMART Moves program, available through a grant from the Kansas Health Foundation, to encourage children to get plenty of exercise.
A female House Finch grabs a piece of bird seed from a feeder Tuesday at the Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. Advice for bird lovers: Using a variety of feeders in winter will attract more species. Feeders should be placed in sheltered areas, like next to the house, to help keep the birds visible for indoor birdwatching. The most common winter birds include house finches, house sparrows, tufted titmice, downy woodpeckers and Northern cardinals.
This year’s Kansas state ornament bears the 150th anniversary logo of Washburn University, depicting the school’s mascot, the Ichabod. The back of the ornament bears the state seal. The ornament was unveiled at Cedar Crest in Topeka Nov. 26, 2012.
