About Hal:
I was born in Kewanee, Illinois in 1950, which makes me over a half a century old. I am the son of a small town family physician. I moved to Omaha, Nebraska for my advance education. I came to Kansas City in 1975 to do my internship and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at St. Luke’s Hospital on the Country Club Plaza. I fell in love with the Kansas City area and have been living here in Overland Park since 1979 when I started my OB/GYN practice. I have raised my children here and now have grandchildren living in the area.
My practice is limited to office gynecology only. I have published articles on the diagnosis and treatment of urinary incontinence and also on abnormal cervical cytology.
I enjoy offering opinions and thoughts in working through problems concerning women and their health care needs. I feel it is very important to make sure women take an active part in decision-making when it comes to health problems that they may encounter. I have a very informal practice and I have a very low-key informal attitude towards health care. I feel that my “small-town son-of-a-family-doctor” roots have made me a very good listener and very attentive physician to the needs of women.
I love spending leisure time at the Lake of the Ozarks where all our family members return each summer for fun and festivities.
