My husband and I are regulars at Paisanos. We have many favorite dishes and have never had a bad experience there. We especially enjoy the marco pollo and lasagna. The salad and bread sticks are excellent. We have had several family/friends get togethers in one of their banquet rooms and everyone enjoyed the food and service. Paisano's is a great place to go for great food, great service and a great atmosphere for conversation! P.S. They make an awesome don capriana and leaning tower!

The last few times I ate at Paisano's the food was sub par and over priced. The service was poor and it was hard to get a waiter's attention. It was unclear what the special was even after asking the waiter and the pasta dish I was told was the special was a "different" special than the one I thought was going to get the special price. When I brought up the issue after receiving the check I was made to feel like I was the offending party for being confused. There are much better Italian restaurants with far superior food and much better prices in Kansas City and the suburbs. That's where I'll be going from now on when I want good Italian food.

Never again... The atmosphere is just adiquate, my vodka martini was so watered down I could hardly tell there was any vodka in it. The salad consisted of wet lettuce with a few olives, a few strands of shredded purple cabbage and a sprinkle of soggy crutons with barely a drizzle of dressing, and the only redeeming quality of the bread was it was warm. The service was extremely slow, so much so that two members of my party complained, resluting with only slightly better service. I can't personally comment on the food as I had to leave before it arrived, well over an hour after arriving at my table, but the comments concerning the other three dishes orded by the remainder of the party indicated that the food was mediocre, undercooked, or too salty. I know I am a minority, but Italian is not my favorite cuisine, therefore I am hard to impress. Considering the rest of my experience, I am sure I would have been equally disappointed.

Until dining there last night I would have agreed with ChootemLiz. But for some reason chef feels that double breading the veal parmigiana somehow improves the dish. It does not. A 1/2 inch thick coating of breading only served to hide the flavor of the veal. I'll definitely not order the parmigiana again if it is prepared in that fashion.

I can't believe Paisano's doesn't have any reviews listed and they're a legend in Lawrence! The best italian restaurant in town. The calamari is the best I've ever had! I love so many of their dishes if I had to list them it would be the whole menu.
