Great wait staff and service, unbelievably comfortable and unique atmosphere. Food was very good, and always unique menu items. Just a classy place for date or business meeting (I've done both there). Recommended!

The Sunday Brunch menu for a special occasion (Mother's Day) was fantastic. Prime Rib with omlette, hash browns, and asparagus; a fruit starter and a kiwi tart for dessert. Every meal is a pleasant surprise. The right atmosphere for a satisfying breakfast, lunch, or dinner.

We just moved to Lawrence, KS from Northern Viriginia and we lucky enough to come upon this gem of a restaurant. My husband and I enjoy eating out and we're always trying to find new delicious places to add to our repertoire. We came to Mauriscos not knowing what to expect and were completely blown away. The first night my husband ordered the fillet and I ordered the roasted half chicken. The filet was absolutely perfect and we both agreed that it was the best steak we had ever had (and believe me, we've gone to SEVERAL steakhouses). It was cooked exactly the way my husband requested and the service staff was very attentive, making sure it was properly prepared. The chicken was absolutely delicious, but the main point of this review is to rave about the perfect-ness of the fillet. We have since gone back a couple of times and everytime they marvel us with all of the meals they prepare and offer. Both times my husband ordered the fillet, it was just as good, if not better than the first time. We were also very grateful that Mauriscos offers a gluten free menu that still has a lot of delicious options to choose from. Seriously people, if you're looking for an amazing place to dine and you're not interested in over priced options with lack of flair, or crazy/loud/obnoxious atmospheres then definitely give Mauriscos a shot. I recommend it to everyone I come in contact with :)

Coworkers at the health department are still talking about the taste test we did a week ago from Marisco's. I picked up the Roasted Vegetable Bucatini and the Smoked Salmon salad. Everyone loved the flavor of the pasta and the salad. The salmon salad was colorful with fresh spinach, dried apricots, pecans, and blue cheese. The honey mustard dressing added another great color and flavor. A number of people commented that they don't usually like salmon but loved the salad. The Roasted Vegetable Bucatini was rich without being heavy. We left off the cream to save the extra fat and calories and it still tasted wonderful.

We are the new hands on operators at Mariscos. Look for some exciting changes in the menu this fall. We are open for breakfast daily at 8a-11a and until 1130a on Saturday and Sunday. We look forward to seeing you soon. Nancy and Rick Renfro
