Darlene Kulhman and Don Sheriff were married on Columbus Day, Oct. 12, 1950, in Fort Collins, Colo.
Don is a retired U.S. Air Force major and a retired data processing manager from Trans World Airlines. He is a life member of the Lawrence Breakfast Optimists and a past governor of Kansas District Optimists. Darlene is a retired advertising consultant from Woolworth Co.
The couple have two daughters, Kathy Lathrom, Olive Branch, Miss., and Melanie Proctor, Four Seasons, Mo.; two sons, Howard, Coffeyville, and R. Earl, Boone, Iowa; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Mary Buckley and Larry Cox were married Oct. 14, 1960, at the Methodist Episcopal Church in De Soto.
Both are graduates of De Soto High School and previously lived in Lawrence for 20 years. Larry is retired from DuPont.
The couple have two sons, Mark and wife Lori, Florida, and Bryan and wife Chris, Colorado; and four grandchildren.

Jay and Helen Grosdidier, Eudora, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary with a Mass and reception hosted by their children for family and friends, Oct. 2 at Holy Family Parish in Eudora.
The couple were married Sept. 30, 1940, at Sacred Heart Parish in Baileyville.
Jay owned and operated the Kaw Valley Implement business from 1955 to 1978. Helen worked for Weaver’s Department Store in Lawrence for 20 years.
They have two sons, Don and wife Mary, and Kenny; a daughter-in-law, Marilyn Lindeen and husband Bob, all of Eudora; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

The future bride is the daughter of Anthony and Constance Skevington, Leawood. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Overland Park. She will earn an applied behavioral science degree from KU in December and is an outdoor pursuits program manager at KU Student Recreation Center.

The bride graduated from Wellington High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise physiology from Kansas University in 2000 and a master’s degree in community health from KU in 2004. She became a Certified Health Education Specialist in February. She is a health program coordinator for Northrup Grumman in St. Augustine, Fla.
The groom graduated from Medina High School in 1998. He earned a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Ohio State University in 2003 and is a banker with Bank of America in Jacksonville.
The couple reside in Jacksonville.
