The future bride earned a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2004 and a Master’s of Business Administration from Rockhurst University in 2008. She is a fourth-grade teacher at Warren Hills Elementary with Liberty Public Schools.
The future groom is the son of John and Lynn Lohmeyer, Salina. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Kansas University in 2002 and is a commodities trader for FC Stone.
The couple plan a Jan. 8, 2010, wedding in Sanibel Island, Fla., with a reception in Kansas City in February.

The future bride is a 2000 graduate of Lawrence High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Baker University in 2005 and a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Union College in 2008. She is a physician assistant in the emergency department at Stormont Vail Regional Health Center in Topeka.
The future groom is a 1998 graduate of Lawrence High and is attending Washburn University’s School of Education.
The couple plan an October 2009 wedding at Mildale Farm in Edgerton.

He is an engineering graduate student at School Of Mines in Golden, Colo., and employed at SunCor Energy in Denver.
The couple plan a Sept. 17, 2009, wedding in Golden.

Thomas Jr. and Michele Garcia, Lawrence, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family brunch at Maceli’s.
The couple were married on Sept. 10, 1949, at St. John’s Catholic Church in Lawrence.
They met in France during World War II when Thomas served in the 75th Infantry Division.
The couple have four children, Francine and Leo Gonzalez, Topeka; Dolores and Steve Ortiz, Lawrence; Thomas III, Lawrence; and Yvonne and Alan Garcia, Lawrence; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
