Kleinschmidt

Melvin and Connie Kleinschmidt, Lawrence, will celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary with an informal luncheon from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at their home, 24526 Stillwell Road. Friends and family are invited.
Melvin Kleinschmidt and Connie Campbell were married Oct. 15, 1967, in Almena.
Melvin worked for the Kansas Geological Survey and is retired. He is a bus driver for the Brandon Woods Retirement Community in Lawrence.
Connie is employed as a lifetime caregiver at the Eudora Nursing Center.
Their children are Todd Kleinschmidt and wife Rachel, College Station, Texas; Kandi Bagwell and husband Bruce, Lemoore, Calif.; and Scott Kleinschmidt and wife Patty, Norton.
They have five grandchildren.

Anniversary

Oshel

Richard and Grace Oshel, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary.
They were married Oct. 23, 1947, in Olathe.
Their children will host a family gathering Oct. 20 at Holcom Park in Lawrence.

Scott graduated from Lawrence High School and received a Bachelor of Science from Kansas University. He is employed as a loan consultant for Capital One Home Loans in Overland Park.

Daniel graduated from Eudora High School and is pursuing a degree in computer science at Park University. He is employed by Blue River Rehabilitation Center and serves in the Army Reserve.

Brian graduated from St. Charles West High School. He received a Bachelor of Liberal Arts and a Doctor of Medicine and completed a surgical residency at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He finished a trauma and critical care fellowship in 2007 at Emory University.

The bride is the daughter of Kevin and Angie Black, Baldwin City. The groom is the son of Harry Schwartz, Sheridan, Wyo., and Adele Hougland, Hillsboro.
Maid of honor was Sara Flory. Best man was Tom Schwartz. Bridesmaids were Kelly Gunn, Jennifer Black and Nadine Appenbrink. Groomsmen were Scott Goodemann, Nicholas Thompson and Chris Williams.
Ushers were Robert Harvey and Blake Regnier.

Jimmy graduated from Eudora High School in 2001. He received auto body and collision repair certification at Kaw Area Technical School. He received a machinist certification from Johnson County Technical School. He is employed by Progress Vanguard in Lawrence.

Nicole Cherie Wilcox and Jacob Paul Garber were married Sept. 1, 2007, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, with the Rev. John Schmeidler officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Thomas and LuAnn Wilcox, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Michael Garber and Sandy Garber, both of Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Jenna Wilcox. Best man was Adam Garber. Bridesmaids were Molly Winter, Jessica Hunt, Brooke Patton, Gretchen Garber and Amy Wilcox. Groomsmen were Shaun Flynn, Scott Johnson, Chris Luman, Adam Wyss and Nick Wilcox.

Matron of honor was Karen Koehn. Best man was David Gardner. Bridesmaids were Katie Fager and Kylie Miller. Groomsmen were Jason Koehn and Kevin Janousek.
The wedding trip to Mexico was attended by 36 family and friends. A reception was given June 9 at the home of Mark Grosdidier, Eudora.
Kristin graduated from Eudora High School in 2000. She is enrolled in the veterinary technology program at Maple Woods Community College and is employed by All Care Animal Hospital in Lenexa.
Jacob graduated from Salina South High School in 1996. He received a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering technology from Kansas State University in Salina in 2001. He is employed by Black & Veatch in Overland Park.

The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Marilyn Frank, Decatur, Ill., and the late Don Wrigley. The groom is the son of Claude and Hazel Hunt, Lawrence.
Matron of honor was Patty Maxey. Best man was Adrian Hunt. Bridesmaids were Mary Corley and Ashlee Hunt. Groomsmen were Aaron Hunt and Nathan Hunt.

Catherine graduated from Eisenhower High School in Decatur, Ill., and received a Bachelor of Music Education at Millikin University in Decatur. She also earned a Master of Arts from the University of Iowa and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of Nebraska. She is assistant professor of music at Washburn University.
Marvin graduated from Mission Valley High School in Eskridge. He received bachelor's and master's degrees in communication studies from Kansas University, and a doctorate in educational studies from the University of Nebraska. He is assistant dean in Continuing Education at KU.
