Ediger

Yunhi Cho, Daegu, South Korea, and Michael Ediger, Lawrence, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of the late Sukje Cho and Taeju Yun, formerly of Daegu. The future groom is the son of Theresa Ediger, Hutchinson, and the late Roland Ediger.
The future bride graduated from Namsan High School in Daegu and Yeungnam University in South Korea. Her family owns and operates the Campus Hideaway Roll Cafe in Lawrence.
The future groom graduated from Hutchinson High School, Hutchinson Community Junior College and Fort Hays State University. He is associate director of International Student and Scholar Services at Kansas University.
The couple plan a June 23, 2007, wedding at the St. Lawrence Catholic Campus Center.

Rajaei

Annie Auf Der Heide and Bardia Rajaei were married March 31, 2007, at Shawnee Presbyterian Church in Shawnee, with Jill B. Linn officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Kent and Nancy Auf Der Heide, Shawnee. The groom is the son of Dr. Karim Rajaei, Tehran, Iran, and Nazi Rajaei, Lawrence.
The maid of honor was Sarah Cook. The bridesmaids were America Almaraz and Kelly Gentry. The groomsmen were Mark Brookstein, Bryan Vaughn and Dinesh Sahrawat. Ushers were Randy and Ryan Auf Der Heide. The reader was Kristi Auf Der Heide. Flower girls were Reagan and Chloe Auf Der Heide.
A reception was given at The Pavilion in Shawnee.
Annie graduated from Shawnee Mission Northwest High School and Kansas University. She is employed by KU and is an independent sales representative for Avon and Petlane.
Bardia graduated from Lawrence High School and KU. He is employed by Schlumberger.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

Wilson

Anna Allen and Christopher Wilson were married Nov. 4, 2006, at Osborne Chapel at Baker University, with the Rev. Thomas P. Reid officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Brad and Susan Allen, Lawrence. The groom is the son of Tom and Jan Wilson, Salina.
The maid of honor was Sarah Allen. The best man was Jeff Wilson. Bridesmaids were Erin Allen, Katie Winter and Anna Marshall. Groomsmen were Tyler Meyerdirk, Bob Connealy and Sean Ryan. Ushers were Andrew, Eli and Patrick Allen.
A reception was given at The Eldridge Hotel.
Anna graduated from Lawrence High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts in English from Kansas University and a Master of Arts in secondary English education from Boston University. She is employed as a buyer for an online fabric company.
Christopher graduated from Salina Central High School. He received a Bachelor of Arts in biochemistry from KU and a Master in Public Health from Boston University. He is attending the University of Colorado School of Law.
The couple reside in Boulder, Colo.

Christian

Kayla Moyer and Andrew Christian were married May 30, 2007, in Jamaica.
The bride is the daughter of Rod and Nancy Moyer, Topeka. The groom is the son of Don and Nancy Christian, Tecumseh.
A reception is planned for July 22 in Topeka.
Kayla graduated from Eudora High School in 2005 and is pursuing a nursing degree at Washburn University.
Andrew graduated from Shawnee Heights High School in 2000 and attended Kansas University. He is employed as the manager at Seabrook Bar & Grill in Topeka.
The couple reside in Topeka.

Metzler

Haylee Potter and Kenton Metzler were married May 13, 2007, in Oahu, Hawaii.
The bride is the daughter of Stacey Hayes, Olathe. The groom is the son of Roger Metzler, Sugar Land, Texas, and Janette Kroeger, Lawrence.
Haylee graduated from Lawrence High School in 2002. She attended Johnson County Community College and is employed as a customer account manager at Indymac Bank.
Kenton attended Johnson County Community College. He is a 3rd class petty officer in the U.S. Navy.
Kenton resides in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, and Haylee resides in Kansas City, Mo.

Anniversary

Whaley

Kennith and Wanda Whaley, Baldwin City, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. June 22 at The Lodge, 502 Ames St., Baldwin City.
They were married June 22, 1957, at Clinton Presbyterian Church in Clinton.
Kennith and Wanda graduated from Lawrence High School in 1956 and 1957, respectively. Kennith worked on his family's farm in Eudora after high school.
The couple relocated to Baldwin City in 1965, where they bought a farm and maintained a dairy. The dairy was sold in 1977, but they continue to work on the farm.
Kennith worked as a truck driver with Farmland Industries, and he retired in 2003 after 23 years of service. Wanda worked in the food service industry in the Baldwin City area for 23 years. She retired in 2002.
Their children are Roger Whaley and wife Diana, Nortonville; Donnie Whaley and wife Paula, Louisburg; Eric Whaley and wife Kelly, Wamego; and Duane Whaley and wife Becky, and Jeff Whaley and wife Toni, all of Baldwin City. They have nine grandchildren.
The couple request no gifts.

Anniversary

Kuhlman

Albert and Donna Kuhlman, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a family gathering later this fall.
Albert Kuhlman and Donna Cook were married June 1, 1957, at Zion Lutheran Church in Portland, Ind. They moved from Kankakee, Ill., to Topeka in 1972 and have lived in Lawrence since 1997.
Albert owned and operated Engineering Design Service in Topeka until 1997. He continued working for the company and for Wolf Construction until he retired in 2006.
Donna worked as a pharmacy technician at Kmart for 22 years. She retired in 1997.
Their children are Rhonda Eisenhart and Larry Froelich, Tecumseh; Robyn and Casey Ford, Wakarusa; Kevin Kuhlman, Las Vegas; Tim Kuhlman, Singapore; and Todd and Lori Kuhlman, Scottsdale, Ariz.
They have six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Anniversary

Mayer

Dr. Lawrence and June Mayer, Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary June 9 with a family luncheon.
Lawrence Mayer and June Shenk were married June 7, 1957, at Village Presbyterian Church in Prairie Village. They have lived in Lawrence since 1963.
Larry graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1953, attended Kansas University, and graduated from the School of Dentistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 1960. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1960 to 1963. He practiced dentistry in Lawrence for 38 years before retiring in May 2001.
June graduated from Shawnee Mission High School in 1955 and attended Kansas State University. She worked for TWA. She was involved in decorative arts, owning a small wholesale business and teaching classes at Jan's Tole Shop in Topeka. She also worked in Larry's dental office and recently worked as a seasonal tax preparer for H&R Block.
Their children are Cindy Thompson and husband Ted, and David Mayer and wife Sally, all of Lawrence; and Michael Mayer and wife Nesreen, Green Cove Springs, Fla.
They have seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Ledom

Chuck and Mary Ledom, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a Mass and family dinner on June 30.
Chuck Ledom and Mary Sommer were married June 26, 1957, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence, with Monsignor George Towle officiating.
Their children and spouses are Rebecca Thyfault, Topeka; Mark and Lisa Ledom, Leawood; Susan Timper, Lenexa; Teresa and Paul Reddick, Overland Park; Greg and Lynne Ledom, and Katherine and Keith Lisbon, all of Olathe; and John and Karen Ledom, and Joshua and Melissa Ledom, all of Lawrence.
They have 25 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Anniversary

Mackenzie

Ken and Sally Mackenzie, Lawrence, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary today with a family dinner. A trip to the West Coast and an Alaskan cruise are planned later this summer.
Kenneth Donald Mackenzie and Sarah Jane McHenry were married June 16, 1957, in Los Angeles.
Following their marriage, Ken continued his studies at the University of California, Berkeley while Sally continued hers at Stanford University. After Ken completed his doctorate in 1964, they moved to Pennsylvania where he taught at Carnegie Mellon University and later at the University of Pennsylvania. In 1969, they moved with their four daughters to Waterloo, Ontario, Canada, where Ken joined the faculty at the University of Waterloo. From 1972 until his retirement in 2005, Ken was the Edmund P. Learned distinguished professor of business at Kansas University. He continues his research as president of EMAC Assessments.
Their daughters are Nancy Murphy, Lawrence; Susan Treber, Upland, Ind.; Carolyn McFarland, Lenexa; and Dorothy Rivette, Palo Alto, Calif. They have 11 grandchildren.

Dennis and Lori Davidson, Russell, and Paul and JoAnn Maciaszek, Basehor, announce the engagement of their children, Jennifer Davidson and Nicholas Maciaszek, both of Lawrence.
The future bride graduated from Russell High School in 2001. In 2005, she received a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Kansas University and a Bachelor of Science from KU's William Allen White School Of Journalism and Mass Communications. She is employed as director of communications for the Kansas Democratic Party.
The future groom graduated from Bishop Ward High School in Kansas City, Kan. He received a Bachelor of Science in geology from KU. He is employed as a Geographic Information Systems developer at E-Fm Consulting LLC in Lawrence.
The couple plan a July 13, 2007, wedding in Lawrence.

The future bride graduated from Lawrence High School in 1998 and received a Bachelor of Architecture from Kansas University in 2004. She is employed as an architect for Rosemann and Associates in St. Louis.
The future groom graduated from Francis Howell High School in 1999 and received a Bachelor of Architecture from KU in 2004. He is employed as an architect for Chiodini Associates in St. Louis.

Terry graduated from Belle Plaine High School in 1997. He received a bachelor's degree in communication from Wichita State University in 2000. He is employed as a features reporter for the Lawrence Journal-World.
