Family mourning loss in tree accident
A Douglas County family is in mourning after losing a member in a tree accident Friday. The man was trimming trees when one fell on him. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday.

National Guard members heading to Africa
Some families in Northeast Kansas celebrated a bittersweet Mother's Day as they prepare to see members leave for Africa. About 500 members of the National Guard will be moving out for a year-long mission.

New program finding jobs for homeless
A new program in Lawrence is trying to find jobs for some of the homeless population in town. The jobs consist of helping make dog biscuits and caring in various ways for canine companions.
