Runners take to Lawrence streets
The first local marathon of the spring season kicked off Sunday with a large turnout. The event led runners past several Lawrence landmarks on their way to hitting the 26-mile mark.
Eudora foundation giving back to school
A Eudora school foundation is finally giving back money to the elementary school after five years. Teachers were able to use the money to buy books for their students.
KU program helping investigate murder
A program through Kansas University's law school is helping to find justice. The program is working to reunite a family that was torn apart by murder.
Accident on turnpike slows traffic
A multiple-vehicle accident on the Kansas Turnpike slowed traffic outside of Lawrence Sunday afternoon. The accident took about an hour to clear and backed up traffic for miles.
Lawrence residents celebrate Earth Day
Area residents paraded down Massachusetts Street Saturday on their way to South Park in celebration of Earth Day. After the parade, residents gathered to learn about earth-friendly services and take part in activities.
Kansas baseball blasts Nebraska
After splitting the first two games in the weekend series against Nebraska, Kansas took charge Sunday to take the third game 6-1. The Jayhawks played the weekend series on the road in Lincoln.
KU softball drops close contest
The KU softball team fought hard to stay in the game against Oklahoma State on Sunday. The Jayhawks fell 4-3 at home.
LHS baseball throttled at Hoglund
Lawrence High baseball faced off against Blue Valley Northwest Sunday at Hoglund Ballpark. The Lions got crushed after the first inning and fell, 14-2.
Firebirds crush competition
The Free State baseball team demolished Heritage on Sunday. The Firebirds shut down the competition, winning 14-1. One Free State player went 3-3 batting with three homeruns and 10 RBI.
Kansas Relays come to a close
The Kansas Relays ended Saturday after four days of competition. One Jayhawk senior ran in Memorial Stadium for the final time as a student.
Josh Selby commits to KU
Star recruit Josh Selby committed to play basketball at KU Saturday. The highly touted recruit will join a Jayhawks team eager to have his talents.
