We have to have confidence in our elected leaders and know they have the sense to do the right things. Yoder has broken that trust and confidence.

What a dummy... seriously... what a dummy.... But we have had been led by a lot of dummies doing worse things... sometimes in the Sea of Galilee, sometimes in the oval office...

FROM YODER'S STANDPOINT, THIS IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT THINGS HE HAS DONE.

I figure the Holy Water Jesus walked on evaporated long ago and has since rained down all over the world. Hell, I've probably flushed a bit of it down the stool and it has since evaporated into the clouds. Think about THAT the next time you walk in the rain.

No way are there issues more important than this! Romney should quickly focus his campaign on the right to bathe nude in public waterways!

What is so wrong about this? In the most liberal town in Kansas and all of a sudden skinny dipping when it is almost completely dark has offended people? This a non-issue and thousands of dollars of our money was wasted by the FBI to investigate it when that money could have been served better elsewhere.

Lest we forget President Clinton/ Monica Lewinski.

And, do you chastise this politician as well as Clinton?
Chung_Wanged 9 months ago
I am not a Republican if that was what you are hoping. I think both sides are crazy. I am an unregistered Libertarian if I had to have a title.

FBI made a statement that this isn't being investigated. Heard on KCMO radio this morning.

Would this be classified as a periscope down or up incident? Kid Rock might have a new summer hit coming out (the Sea of Galilee remix) titled smoking all summer long.

Give it a break...I just think people need something to b!t(h about. This happened a year ago and as I've seen he's still doing his job. Can't say how well because I don't keep up with him. I don't think skinny dipping is a crime - heck I did it in the Atlantic ocean at Rohobeth years ago and I haven't turned into a craze maniac yet. He's human even if he is a politician. Heck we were all born naked. Naturally if he preached against skinny dipping then did it I would be concerned. I bet he passed gas too, does that disqualify him for the government? This is just so petty. There are more important things going on then making a big deal out of a poltician going for a dip in the buff. Get over it already now.

It is a crime in Israel. "Swimming in the lake is permitted but public nudity is not allowed, according to Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld. He said no official complaint had been made against Yoder, but it was possible he could still be charged even a year later."
a_flock_of_jayhawks 9 months ago
He's not doing his job! I had to contact his office over an issue. I am a vet and, as a civilian, the chain of command for these issues is your Congressman. Contacted them several times and the only thing they have done is add me to their silly mailing list. Fortunately, a congressman in another state was able to help. This guy is worthless!!!
Chung_Wanged 9 months ago
That is another issue. If he hadn't skinny dipped your opinion would not change, he will still suck. Whether he skinny dipped or not, he wasn't helping you at that particular time.
a_flock_of_jayhawks 9 months ago
Well, he's not doing a key aspect of his job AND he's an embarrassment to our country. While I served, someone who had done something of this nature in a foreign country (and I've seen a few of these things) would have been punished, in part because you are representing our country and it would be conduct unbecoming. He even admits that.

Teddy Roosevelt would skinny dip in the White House pool.
akuna 9 months ago
That's Roosevelt's pool in his country. He has the right to do so. Yoder was in another country. Broke their laws. Offended many people. and showed his hypocrisy once again. He is a disingenuous man.

the journal world is certainly doing the best it can to try to make this a huge distraction. No bias in this print media( ha ha).

Did he leave any stains on the interns dress? Or, did he do anything involving cigar???

Do you think President Clinton banging his intern has a negative impact on his Presidency ? Oh he was married so that makes it okay...
jonas_opines 9 months ago
You appear to be stuck in an irrelevant feedback loop.
jonas_opines 9 months ago
Had to vote "no". I think we're quite capable of distracting ourselves from the important issues on our own. If it wasn't this, it would just be something else.

And Kennedy was a choir boy!! Accused of rape & murder. Remember him sitting on Clinton's ethic panel not saying a word.
consumer1 9 months ago
all the Kennedy's were law breakers from Grampa on down. Not so sure about Robert "Bobby".
RogueThrill 9 months ago
It's not a huge deal. My circle of friends are making a big deal out of it on Facebook (I am as well) but that's because we all grew up with Kevin and have known him since his Democratic days.
Assuming he didn't do it where kids could see, I don't really care. I can only imagine how badly this sort of thing would have been received if it were a Dem. It'd be Anthony Wiener all over again.

A non-issue IMO and I'm not a Yoder fan.

consumer1, you should get together with SageonPage! You two have the same Clinton fetish!
"Hey, consumer1, congratulations on your oldest getting engaged! When's the wedding?" "Clinton/Lewinsky!"
"Honey, what did the mechanic say about that weird noise coming from the car engine?" "Clinton/Lewinsky!"
"Thank you, ma'am. And Sir, what can I bring you for dinner this evening?" "Clinton/Lewinsky!"
"Dad! Dad! Guess who got nominated for student council president?!?" "Clinton/Lewinsky!"

So what? he went skinny dipping. If he were a democrat, we probably wouldn't hear a thing. It would be expected for a liberal to do something like this.

you got that right. My response to this nonissue is Garfields answer---Big Fat Hairy Deal!

Actually, this is the first thing I've heard about Yoder that I liked. Tempest in a teapot. Why should he apologize to anyone for it?
Mixolydian 9 months ago
The folks over in Israel are all wondering why this was even being reported in the paper. No big deal at all. My view all along.
A Rueters newsfeed story in the Jerusalem Post, but the comments make it abundantly clear it's less than a yawn:
