Warm temperatures stick around with our daytime high topping out at 86 degrees with a strong south wind 15-20 mph and mostly sunny skies. We'll see a few more clouds this evening with an overnight temperature of 60 degrees and a SW wind 10-15 mph. Topping our news today, the second murder trial for Jason Allen Rose is slated to begin today. Also, the city's streets are falling further and further into disrepair. And in sports, Jon Cornish is heading for the Canadian Football League after missing out on NFL Draft weekend, plus in features, organic baby food is all the rage.

A nice warm-up today with a high of 68 degrees and a West wind 10-15 mph. There is a chance of late afternoon showers or thunderstorms. The overnight should clear up with the overnight low dropping to 48 degrees. In today's news: Another round of jockeying in KU Medical Center affiliation discussions; City sidewalk repairs going to cost money for local residents; Duke Ellington having unpublished work publish thanks to a Lawrence resident; KU Athletics doing better academically.

Temperatures will stay cool today with the high today of 58 degrees. The wind will be fairly strong out of the North 15-20 mph with rain in the first half of the day, and clearing by the afternoon. Much cooler this afternoon with highs only topping out at 64 degrees. Rain chances will continue into the afternoon and evening today with a West wind 5-15 mph. Tonight's temperature will drop to 45 degrees with scattered showers. In the news: Lawmakers demand audits in wake of fued betwee KUMC and KU Hospital, Kansas river-keepers to take an inventory of Kansas River beauty and problems, Neil Hamburger appears tonight at 10 p.m. at the Jackpot Music Hall, and the KU men's golf finishes 10th in the Big 12.

Another warm day ahead with a high near 76 and partly cloudy skies. Wind will stay out of the N most of the day between 5-10 mph. Look for showers and thunderstorms after midnight tonight with an overnight low around 58 degrees. In the news: In news today, former Sen. Howard H. Baker was in town to accept the Dole Leadership Prize and an old house is getting new life with the help of state grants. In sports, the KU golf team is preparing for Big 12 Championships and in features, a group of high school students are learning to play bridge.

Cool days continue today with a high of 44 degrees. Rain will be fairly constant through the day today, starting in time for your morning commute, and changing to snow by the overnight. Wind will be out of the NE 10-20 mph through the day. Expect anywhere from a trace to 2" of snow to fall overnight tonight as the low drops to 33 degrees. Temperatures struggle again to make it into the 50's. We will see some sunshine and a light North breeze at 5-10 mph bringing our high today to 50 degrees. A chance of showers late this evening dropping the overnight low to 36 degrees with the wind shifting out of the East 5-10 mph. In the news: Lawrence residents want more recreational facilities, including an ice rink, expanded gambling becomes law, but that won't stop opponents from still trying to kill it, Lawrence Art Auction coming this Saturday, and sports feature on a local man named Mickey Mantle making his first trip to Yankees Stadium.
