Kansas University softball coach Megan Smith sorts through hundreds of coats for the Share the Warmth coat giveaway sponsored by Scotch Fabric Care Services. Smith was one of several volunteers working on the annual event. Scotch has collected and cleaned more than 2,500 coats for the program. The Salvation Army of Lawrence will handle the distribution of the coats at Suite 119 at the I-70 Business Center in North Lawrence. The coat giveaway will take place from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday. This will be the 26th year for the program.
