Friends and acquaintances of longtime North Lawrence resident George Kaull raised an18-foot fabricated sheet metal sculpture in his honor Saturday near his former home at Eighth and Oak streets. The piece was designed in collaboration by blacksmith and iron worker Walt Hull and artist Ardys Ramberg, both of Lawrence. Ramberg and Hull have been working bit by bit on the piece for the last nine years since their friend Kaull died. Visible in the photo from left are Leo Beier, David Leamon and Karl Ramberg.
