Theology on Tap 5:30 p.m. at Henry’s on 8th and Mass. St. This Bible study/discussion is held at the bar at Henry’s Upstairs. This group is for young adults and the young at heart. This is not a typcially structured Bible study, but a space for open-minded sharing of the many ways that scripture can be heard and the many ways that spiritual issues might be thought about. Stephen Ministry 7:00 p.m. every 1st Monday of the month at the church Stephen Ministry is a special ministry in which trained men and women from our congregation reach out to another in a time of need. Educational meetings, open to the whole congregation, are held on the first Monday evening of each month (except in December).
Breakfast at Perkins Group 8:30 a.m. every 1st Tuesday and 3rd Thursday of the month at Perkins on 23rd Street The Breakfast group is for those early morning people, men and women, who enjoy good fellowship at breakfast. Divine Diners Groups of approximately eight persons are formed by the Fellowship Board from those indicating interest. Each group then determines its own schedule for meeting and coordination of meals. Singles, couples and families are welcome to join in the fellowship. Contact person is Kay Koch, 843-3220.
Men’s Lunch Noon every 1st Tuesday of the month Men’s Lunch meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at noon in Rm. 202N. There is a new faith-related topic for discussion each month. Please call the church office, 843-3220, to reserve a $5 sandwich ahead of time. All men are welcome.
HyVee’s Lunch Bunch 11 a.m., last Sunday of the month at HyVee on 6th Street Following the 9:30 a.m. service, all are welcome for lunch!
Prayer Shawl Ministry 7:00 p.m. every 1st Wednesday of the month in the Heritage Room For centuries shawls have been symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving God. Each shawl begins with a prayer and blessings for the recipient. These intentions are continued throughout the creation of the shawl and upon completion, a final blessing is offered before the shawl is sent on its way.
