Dustin Dallam Burr and Misty Dawn Warren
Misty Dawn Warren, Lawrence, and Dustin Dallam Burr, Baldwin City, announce their engagement.
The future bride is the daughter of Donald and Maria Cumpton, Liberty, Mo. She is a 1993 graduate of Interlochen (Mich.) Arts Academy and earned a bachelor’s degree in harp performance from the University of Arizona in 1997. She is a member of local music group, Angel Road, is also a freelance harpist, a harp teacher, and does independent contract work with Black Top Tools, Inc. in Liberty, Mo.
The future groom is the son of Lance Burr and Johnita Burr, both of Lawrence. He is a 1992 graduate of Lawrence High School, attended Kansas University, and is employed with Blue Collar Distro in Lawrence.
The couple plan a June 30, 2012, wedding at Community Bible Church in Lawrence.

Christopher Eugene Rhoad and Alaina Catherine Gray
David and Chris Gray, Kansas City, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Alaina Catherine Gray, to Christopher Eugene Rhoad, both of Lawrence.
The future bride is a 2005 graduate of Newton High School and earned a bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Kansas University. She is currently a student at the University of St. Mary, where she plans to earn a master’s degree in counseling psychology in May 2013.
The future groom is the son of Luke and Anita Rhoad, Trimble, Mo. He is a 2001 graduate of North Kansas City High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology from Kansas State University in 2006 and is a personal trainer and the owner of Morph Training in Lawrence.
The couple plan a Sept. 14, 2012, wedding on the beach in Mexico.

Nolan Andrew Putnam and Jessica Kristine Horsch
Dr. Brian and Marilyn Horsch announce the engagement of their daughter, Jessica Kristine Horsch, all of Lawrence, to Nolan Andrew Putnam, Perry.
The future bride is a graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. She earned a bachelor’s degree in organismal biology from Kansas University and a doctorate of optometry from Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn. She is an optometrist at The EyeDoctors in Olathe and Louisburg.
The future groom is the son of Eddy and Patricia Putnam, Perry. He is also a graduate of PLHS. He earned an associate degree in general sciences from Highland Community College, and an associate degree in radiologic technology and a certificate in magnetic resonance imaging, both from Washburn University. He is an magnetic resonance imaging technologist at Children’s Mercy Hospital South in Overland Park.
The couple plan a June 30, 2012, wedding at Danforth Chapel at KU.

William and Susan Warren, Keenesburg, Colo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Amanda Warren, to David Martin, both of Lawrence.
The future bride is a graduate of Weld Central High School in Keenesburg. She earned a bachelor’s degree in graphic design and illustration from Kansas University and is the owner of Amanda Warren Graphic Design, Illustration & Books in Lawrence.
The future groom is the son of Linda Martin, Emporia, and the late William Martin. He is a graduate of Quinter High School. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from KU and is a tax manager for Sprint in Overland Park.
The couple plan a June 22, 2012, wedding at Danforth Chapel at KU.

Henry and Denise Burke announce the engagement of their daughter, Cristin Burke, all of Eastham, Mass., to David McKinney, Lawrence.
The future bride earned graduate degrees from Kansas University and is a senior analyst and cultural specialist at Fort Leavenworth.
The future groom is the son of Allyn McKinney, Bay Harbor Islands, Fla., and Priscilla McKinney, Lawrence. He is a graduate of Lawrence High School and KU, and is a professional photographer and a geographer.
The couple plan a June 2012 wedding in Eastham.

Nancy and Johnson Shockley
Johnson and Nancy Shockley, rural Lawrence, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary while camping with friends at Pomona Lake.
Nancy Winston and Johnson Shockley were married May 19, 1962, at the First Baptist Church in Lawrence.
The couple has lived in the Lawrence area their entire marriage. Johnson retired from Hallmark Cards Inc. in Lawrence as a machine modification specialist. Nancy is a retired sign language interpreter.
They have two sons, William and wife Toni, rural Lawrence, and Randall, Eudora; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The couple’s anniversary was celebrated again with extended family at the annual Winston Family Reunion on May 26.

Tom and Virginia McGee, Eudora, will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary. Their children and grandchildren would like to honor them with a card shower.
The couple were married June 6, 1942.
They have two daughters, Carol Clark, Mountain View Ark., and Roma Tesch and husband Jim, Overbrook; a son, Mike, Baldwin City; eight grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

Nicole Attebery and Willie Dotson III, both of Lawrence, were married May 11, 2012, at the Union Pacific Depot in Lawrence with Matthew Yates officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Joe and Cathy Reyes, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Willie Dotson II, Kansas City, Kan., and Gloria Brown, Lawrence.
Maid of honor was Angela Helm. Best man was Willie Dotson IV. Bridesmaids were Robyn Garcia, Raquel Mclean and Jennifer Myers. Groomsmen were Robert White, Tim Nelson and Josh Myers. Flower girls were Avery Myers and Brooklyn Groninger. Ringbearer was Christopher “Tank” Mumford II.
A reception followed at the Depot.
The bride is a graduate of Lawrence High School and is a case coordinator for Bert Nash Community Mental Health Center.
The groom is also a graduate of Lawrence High and is employed with Advanced Tree Service.
The couple reside in Lawrence.
