Matt and Kristen Hinshaw
Kristen Dexter and Matt Hinshaw, both of Overland Park, were married July 9, 2010, at Danforth Chapel at Kansas University, with Susan Benizio officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Brian and Diana Dexter, Overland Park.
The groom is the son of Gary and Kelley Hinshaw, Overland Park.
Maid of honor was Raquel Lopez. Best man was Garrett Hages. Bridesmaids were Emily Robbins and Rachel Knowlton. Groomsmen were Howard Lubliner and Samuel Knowlton.
A reception was given at Maceli’s.
The bride is a 2005 graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School and a 2009 graduate of Kansas University. She is working on a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction and is a second-grade teacher in Bonner Springs.
The groom is also a 2005 graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School and graduated from KU in 2009. He is a civil engineer for the Kansas Department of Transportation and a teaching assistant for KU’s engineering department.
The couple reside in Lawrence.

Valerie and Eric Peltzer
Valerie Pentecost, Lawrence, and Eric Peltzer, Atchison, were married Nov. 21, 2009, at Madrid Theater in Kansas City, Mo., with the Rev. Brad Humphrey officiating.
The bride is the daughter of Terry and Deb Pentecost, Lawrence.
The groom is the son of Ted and Sharon Peltzer, Atchison.
Matron of honor was Lisa Meyers. Best woman was Paige Peltzer. Bridesmaids were Talisha Slyter, Lindsay Underwood, Noelle Pohl and Jacque Biersmith. Bride’s personal attendant was Melissa Krick. Groomsmen were Nic Rebant, Josh Rebant, Scott Underwood and Ryan Pohl. Ushers were Tony Meyers, Craig Miller and Eric Miller. Guest book attendants were Samuel Hendee and Jacob Hendee.
A reception followed at the theater.
The couple reside in Kansas City, Kan.

Cody Babcock and Kylee Tibbits
Kenneth and Donna Tibbits along with David and Barbara Babcock, all of Lawrence, announce the engagement of their children, Kylee Tibbits and Cody Babcock, also of Lawrence.
The future bride is a 2004 graduate of Free State High School and attended Kansas University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Washburn University in 2009 and is registered nurse at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka.
The future groom is a 2004 graduate of Perry-Lecompton High School. He attended Johnson County Community College and is employed by Pennzoil in Lawrence.
The couple plan a June 25, 2011, wedding at Stony Point Hall in Baldwin City.
Anniversary
Heck
Emil and Bette Heck
Emil and Bette Heck, Lawrence, will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary today with a family dinner at The Eldridge Hotel.
Bette Quigley and Emil Heck Jr. were married Oct. 21, 1950, in Bette’s hometown of Gower, Mo.
In March 1951, the couple moved into the rural Douglas Country home where they still reside.
Emil, a 1938 graduate of Liberty Memorial High School, is a lifetime Douglas County resident and retired farmer. Bette graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a degree in home economics. She moved to Lawrence to be a Douglas County Extension agent before becoming a homemaker. Emil is a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Bette has been a member for 60 years.
They have four children, Linda Bennett and husband Darrell, Leawood; Michael Heck, Lawrence; Mark Heck, Leawood; and Susan Holcomb and husband Bob, Lenexa; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Nancie and Raymond Bryant
Nancie and Raymond Bryant, Oskaloosa, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 2 with family.
The couple were married Oct. 8, 1960, in Lawrence.
They are now retired and live in Oskaloosa.
They have three children, Tina Bates, Oskaloosa; Mike Bryant, Lecompton; and Zelia Bryant, Tonganoxie; and seven grandchildren.
