The bride-to-be is a graduate of Flint Hills High School. She attended Butler County Community College. She is a registered nurse at Overland Park Regional Medical Center.

The future groom is a graduate of Norton High School. He attended Hutchinson Community College and then graduated from Kansas University. He is a state trooper in Douglas County for the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The couple plan a Jan. 14, 2006, wedding in El Dorado.

Krider

Chuck and Laurel Krider, Lawrence, recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary at their home in Estes Park, Colo.

Chuck Krider and Laurel Lange Wise were married Oct. 18, 1975, in Danforth Chapel on Kansas University's campus.

Their children are Sean Krider, El Dorado Hills, Calif.; Shannon Krider, Folsom, Calif.; and Ryan Krider, Lawrence. They also have four grandchildren.

Kenneth and Betty Weltz, Overland Park, announce the engagement of their daughter, Elizabeth Weltz, Lawrence, to Justin Poplin, Lawrence, son of Allen and Fredia Poplin, Baldwin.

The bride-to-be is a senior at Kansas University where she is studying psychology and women's studies.

The future groom received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Kansas University and a juris doctorate from the University of Georgia. He is employed in the Intellectual Properties division at Lathrop & Gage Law offices in Kansas City, Mo.

The couple plan a June 2006 wedding in Charleston, S.C.

Tracee Anderson and Jim Sowers were married April 23, 2005, at Danforth Chapel on Kansas University's campus with Judge Robert Fairchild officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Brent and Kristen Anderson, Hutchinson. The groom is the son of Jerry Sowers, Atchison.

Maid of honor was Erin McLain. Best man was Curt Shontz. Bridesmaids were Emily Galbreath and Ivy Heck. Groomsmen were Greg Sowers and Todd Anderson. Candle lighter was Beth Karst. Reader was Shellie Peterson.

A reception was given at the Union Pacific Depot in North Lawrence.

The bride is a graduate of Hutchinson High School and Kansas University. She is a jeweler at Diamonds By Design in Topeka.

The groom is a graduate of Atchison High School and Kansas University. He is a computer programmer at Federal Home Loan Bank of Topeka.

The bride is the daughter of Daryl and Kim Messer, rural Baldwin. The groom is the son of Mike and Kathy Coffman, rural Lawrence. The bride's grandparents are James and Judy Evans, Columbus; Bill and Peggy Bogle, Baxter Springs; and Joan Buergin, Columbus. The groom's grandparents are Paul and Beverly Hensler, Lawrence.

Maid of honor was Kristin Messer. Bridesmaids were Ashley Coffman, Kristin Harris, Sam Oehlert and Marie Hyde. Best man was Chris Maley. Groomsmen were Kit Leary, John Aduddell, Jacob Wilson and Pat Fritzel. Flower girl was Hannah Rupp. Ring bearers were Blayne Brierton and Blaize Brierton. Ushers were Ted Jehle, Mark Maley and Matt Trowbridge. Program, gift and guest book attendants were Kacey Spangler, Krystal Spangler and Abby Spangler. A barbecue and dance was given in the barn of Darrell and Pam Maley.

The couple took a honeymoon trip to the Western Caribbean.

The bride is a 2002 graduate of Baldwin High School. She is employed at Town Plaza Family Practice in Overland Park.

The groom is a 2001 graduate of Lawrence High School. He is employed by LRM Industries as an excavator.

The groom is a Pittsburg High School graduate. He graduated from KU's School of Business in 2004. He is a long-term care insurance specialist in the Lawrence, Topeka and Kansas City area.

The future groom is a 2000 graduate of Thomas Moore Prep High School in Hays. He graduated from KU in 2004 with a chemical engineering degree. He is an independent agent for AFLAC.
