Lawrence artist Elden Tefft is creating the "Sandy the Sandrat" sculpture in honor of North Lawrence residents, who consider themselves sandrats, and are in need of a mascot. The annual North Lawrence Sandrat reunion is Saturday, June 4, and attendees will have a chance to get an early look at the sculpture in progress.
