On Thursday, May 27, 2010, students from the Lawrence Children's Choir recorded back up vocals for "Let's Go Outside". The song, which was written and preformed by Lawrence artist Kelley Hunt, is aimed at getting children to explore the outdoors. The lyrics focus on the mission of a newly formed Lawrence group, Outside for a Better Inside.

Thousands gather to honor slain firefighter
Funeral services were held today in Shawnee for firefighter John Glaser, who died Saturday battling a house fire. Among those showing their support were dozens of Lawrence emergency service workers, who joined in the procession.
