Local high school grads celebrate
Graduating seniors at Free State and Lawrence High celebrated the end of their high school careers Sunday in each school's stadium. The weather was nice enough to hold both ceremonies outdoors.

Free State beer hitting the shelves
The beer sold at Free State Brewery is now available at local liquor stores and around the area. The brewery's top four beers are currently available.

Motorcycle crash injures three
Three people were transported to a Kansas City area hospital after a motorcycle accident Sunday afternoon. Two vehicles were involved.

A 16-year-old managed to flip over the SUV he was driving Saturday afternoon. The accident occurred after he unsuccessfully navigated a roundabout and hit a tree.

Jayhawk baseball loses swagger, series
The Jayhawks lost all three games in a weekend series against Oklahoma. The team finished the league season under .500 and hopes of an NCAA tournament birth are dwindling.

Firebirds finish third at state
Free State could not defend its state title but did come in third in the state swim meet during the weekend. Lawrence High finished in 15th.

Topeka shop getting community rolling
The Topeka Community Cycle Project is working to get the community on bikes. The shop takes usable parts from unusable bikes and refurbishes others for sales and giveaways.
