Franklin County community mourns loss
Franklin County law enforcement honored the memory of one of their own Sunday after Samuel Smith died in a car accident during the weekend. The 23-year-old deputy was responding to a call when he lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree.

4-H pet show about more than animals
The 4-H pet show took place Saturday as Douglas County prepares for the annual county fair. Kids who showed their pets had to research their animals and the event helped them work on their communication skills.
