Audit recommends charging for trash
An city audit has brought up the suggestion of using more automated trash trucks in an effort to save money. An idea has also been proposed that would call for residents to be charged based on how much trash they threw away.

City crews have filled more than 2,300 potholes in the past two weeks. Residents can call in and report potholes to the city.

Lawrence interchange set to close

Man detained after sword-wielding incident
Police officers and ambulance crews were called to the 2500 block of Redbud Lane Thursday afternoon by a woman reporting that her son was acting suicidal. The man confronted police with a sword, and was subdued with a Taser.
