Three charged with meth trafficking
Three men were charged with meth trafficking after investigations at a residence east of Lawrence. There has been no word on when the three will be back in court.

City commission may back area schools
Three of the five city commissioners favor the idea to not close any local schools. The city officials will consider sending a letter to the school board.

Curbside recycling to get new look
Curbside recycling in Lawrence is about to get a different look. The largest recycling company in the Midwest is taking charge of the operation. The recycled materials are collected and sold to other countries.

Students engage in engineering expo
Area students participated Friday in the 99th engineering expo on the KU campus. Students participated in various competitions including an egg drop. The expo continues Saturday.

Free State's boys basketball team fell short Friday against Olathe South. The Firebirds lost 55-45.

The Firebird girls couldn't produce quite enough offense to get by Olathe South on Friday. The girls lost 58-41.

The LHS boys basketball team dropped a close game against Olathe Northwest Friday. The Lions lost 35-39.

The Eudora High boys basketball team took it to Metro Academy Friday night. The Cardinals won 64-41.
